1.This invitation for Bids follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in Development Business No. 529.0 of 29 Feb. 2000. The Government of the People’s Republic of China had received a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) toward the cost of the Shijiazhuang Urban Transport Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract for Jianhua Street Construction Project (Contract No. CI/03.1): Contract No. CI/03.1, Jianhua Street Construction Project comprises Jianhua Street (north) starts from Heping Road, then extends to the north along the old Jianhua Street, under crossed Shide Railway, crossed Fengshou Road at grade, and extends further to north along Dongming Canal and ends at the junction with North Second Ring. The road is 2326.32 meter long, of the stake number from 0+000 to 2+362.316, and of 50 meter wide property line. Jianhua street (south) starts from the junctions with south second Ring, then extends to the north side of Huaizhong Road, crossed the planned Tanan Road and the planned Tabei Road and ends at the junction with Donggang Road.

2.We, China International Tendering Company, acting for and on behalf of the Employer, Shijiazhuang Urban Transport Project Office, now invite you and other prequalified bidders to submit sealed bids for the execution and completion of the cited contract.

4.A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by you at the above office and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of CNY 1500 or USD$200.

5.All bids must be accompanied by a bid security in the form and amount specified in the bidding documents, and must be delivered to the following address at or before 10:00 am (Beijing Time) of September 15, 2004.
